Steps to Apply

Step 1

Review the Requirements

Review the Requirements:

  • Age: At least 17 years old.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Placement Testing: Completion of our required placement test.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to perform the essential functions of the trade.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.

Step 2

Gather Necessary Documents

  • Final high school transcript or GED certificate.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • For veterans: submit a copy of your DD214.
  • Additional supporting documents (optional but beneficial):
    • Post high school/college transcripts
    • Certifications or specialized training records
    • Resume and/or Letters of recommendation

Submit Documentation

  • All documents must be submitted simultaneously.
  • Ensure that steps 1-3 are complete before uploading your documents.

Step 5

Complete Online Application

  • Fill out and submit the online application form.
  • Upon submission, you will receive an email to verify your email address. Please do this, or there may be an error receiving all of your contact information

Step 6

Exam and Interview Process

  • Qualified Applicants who have completed steps 1-5 will be notified by email of the next entrance exam.
    • This test is scheduled and costs $30.00; payment is due at the testing center (exact cash, check, or card). Applicants are required to score 25% or higher for a scheduled interview.
  • Once the exam is completed and scores have been received, an interview with the TASM JATC Board will be scheduled.
    • You will receive an email with the interview information.

Step 7

Ranking and Acceptance

  • After the interview, applicants are placed on our eligibility list:
    • Rankings are accessible the week following your interview.
      • You will be notified by email of your interview results.
  • Accepted candidates will be notified via phone and email.
      • Upon acceptance, applicants must pass a drug exam.
